HMS Victory - Issue 1

I finally stated my HMS Victory build about a week ago. This is my first attempt at building my own ship model. I am learning as I go along and I will try my level best to document the problems I faced during the build process.
Issue 1 came at an introductory price of RM 9.90 per issue. Together with the first issue, a simple beginners guide to modelling were provided. This helped me especially during painting of the small parts. Without the helpful tips, I doubt I would have been able to paint the correct way.

The first thing that I did was to do the bow framework. Seeing that the framework was quite big compared to the 12 pounder gun and that the PVA glue need some time to dry, I decided to work on the bow first. This would give ample time for the PVA glue to dry and make working on the bow easier.

After building the bow framework, Its time to work on the 12 pounder gun. I was quite surprised by the size of the 12 pounder frame. Here is a comparison of the parts that I would be working on. As reference, the scale of my cutting mat is 10 mm x 10 mm.

After much difficulties, I finally managed to finish the 12 pounder gun. Upon completion, I noticed that I missed a few spots during the painting process. I will be doing the touch up works later on when I start to paint a different 12 pounder gun.

Appreciate any comments or feedback that you may have in hep to make this HMS Victory build a success. Stay tuned for the build for issue 2.
